Alexa & Joaquin’s Tropical Formal Dominican Wedding

Alexa and Joaquin tied the knot last February in one of the most beautiful wedding venues in the Caribbean: Casa de Campo – an especially meaningful place for the couple who first met at the luxury resort and have made countless memories together there over the past nine years. The couple exchanged vows atop a beach platform in an elegant yet relaxed setting that included an oval floral installation and the blue ocean as their wedding ceremony backdrop.

Alexa was stunning in her LPG gown. She wore a custom Bella, a gown she knew was “the one” as soon as she tried it on during her consultation at our NY Flagship boutique. We customized Alexa’s gown from our original strapless to a V neck and back and designed a matching overskirt. Scroll down to read our interview with Alexa and to view her dreamy wedding album!

Tell us about the proposal!

Our proposal was so special and something I will forever cherish. We were on a trip to Napa Valley, somewhere I had always wanted to visit. After a romantic dinner at our hotel, we walked up to our room where it was completely covered in pink and white rose petals, and right before I could realize what was going on, I saw Joaquin in front of me on one knee. I walked towards him and it was a moment I will never forget, just the two of us, and over the moon with happiness, love, and excitement.

Can you share some details about the wedding?

Our wedding date was February 23rd, 2019, at Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic. It is a place very special for both of us as we met there and have made so many memories there together. It took place at a private home overlooking the ocean with the beautiful sunset in the background. Our dress code was “Etiqueta Tropical” which means the men wore white jackets, black pants, and a black bowtie, and the women wore long formal dresses of any color.

What are some of the things you loved about planning your wedding?

Planning our wedding was such a fun process. It took a lot of work, but with the help of my mom, sister, and wedding planner, it was by far my favorite project of all time. Our wedding planner, Sarah Troncosso, was absolutely amazing, and she really made this process so much easier for us. At any time of the day or night when we had questions, concerns, or ideas, she was there to help and make all our dreams come to life.

Congratulations, Alexa and Joaquin!
